Encouragement Today
I am sharing my special weekend retreat through today’s blog post.
If you follow my blog for any length of time, you will see that friendship is dear to my heart.
I cherish each and every person I have in my life. I truly believe God placed each and every person in my heart for a specific purpose and reason.
My mini weekend retreat was driving four hours down the road to spend about seven to eight hours with a friend who is so dear to us that she is like a family member.
I am just praying God will protect my child’s body and protect her from a physical body shut down as a result of this long day. She has been sick for three weeks with a sinus infection and thankfully, with an emergency ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist) visit what she is experiencing now is not an infection, but in fact is sinus swelling which is causing the pain which mimics the pain and pressure of a sinus infection. Her spring time allergies are out of control which is what is causing her sickness now.
If you would be so kind and join me in praying over her body so this mini retreat doesn’t set her back in being sick, I would appreciate it.
To see her struggle to have a “normal” active life is heartbreaking, but she tries with every ounce of strength she has.
To go see our special friend was my kiddo’s ultimate decision because she loves her like a sister. I left it up to her respecting her need to live “normally” while working around her chronic illnesses.
Today, we took this quote literally because our friendship with our sweet friend has been through many hardships.
“Friendship isn’t about who you’ve known the longest, it’s about who walked in to your life, said “I’m here for you,” and PROVED it.”
— Unknown
Our friendship has seen a divorce, a move, sickness and five surgeries.
She has gone above and beyond the call of duty for us and it is my desire to do the same for her. In the nearer future we will be divided by an ocean for a couple of years, but I know this is not a threat to our friendship. It will only draw us closer.
“As in water face reflects face, So a man’s heart reveals the man.”
Proverbs 27:19 NKJV
Our friendship is truly special because her heart is her heart is pure, her loyalty is solid, her intentions are honest and her love is deep.
I was richly blessed today to spend but only a few hours with her, but the memories we made will last a life time.
My sweet friend, take some time this weekend to build and store away some precious memories. They are what we look back on and brings the joy back in our lives when darkness is all around us.
