Life is a Whirlwind

Life has a way of sweeping us up in its whirlwind—bringing moments of deep joy and unimaginable sorrow. It’s been a season like that for me. A season of change, of survival, of walking through days I never expected. And now, as I finally pause to reflect and write again, I’m reminded that many of us have walked through similar times—those stretches where you’re just trying to make it through the day, unsure how you’re even standing.

These moments may feel isolating, but they are more common than we often realize. They’re part of what we call life—the beautiful, messy, unpredictable journey we all share. And if you’re anything like me, when you look back at those hardest days, you’ll realize: you didn’t get through them on your own.

It was God—holding your hand, whispering peace in the chaos, and sometimes even carrying you when you had nothing left to give.

“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

– Isaiah 46:6 (NIV)

I started this blog in 2017 with the hope of encouraging and inspiring you through all the ups and downs of daily life—the good, the joyful, the painful, and the in-between. I’ve lived through all of it. What I write isn’t just meant to comfort you, but to remind us both that there is always hope. That blessings still exist—even when we can’t see them right away.

And that’s what I want to help you do: to see the blessings. Even in the darkness. Especially in the darkness. Because when we take time to look for God’s goodness in the middle of our struggles, a little light begins to shine through. And when we come out the other side, we can look back with grateful hearts—not just for the end of the trial, but for how we were held through it.

“Sometimes when you’re in a dark place, you think you’ve been buried, but you’ve actually been planted.”

Christine Caine

If you’ve been with me on this journey for a while, you may notice a shift in my writing. That’s because I have shifted. Life has shifted me. My perspective, my faith, my voice—they’ve all deepened in ways only time and hardship can bring.

But my heart remains the same: to offer you encouragement, inspiration, and hope—no matter what season you’re walking through.

Thank you for still being here. Whether you’ve followed me from the beginning or you’re just discovering this space, I’m so glad you’re here.

Big hugs to you all—old friends and new.

With love,

Heidi
