Christmas Encouragement

design-18A Place of Holiday Encouragement

This page is designed to Encourage you through the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season.

Every year I start out with a spirit of Christmas, but it is quickly quenched by the chaos of all the extra activities we throw into our already packed lives. It is my heart’s desire to keep this spirit all through the season this year as well as helping you along the way.

I am going to make every effort to make the time to encourage you with Holiday quotes, bible verses and random words providing “us” with a peace to still enjoy this Holiday Season joyously.

Merry Christmas Dear Friends!!!

Stay Focused

Ground Yourself in The Meaning of Christmas

Christmas Encouragement

December 10, 2017

E094E905-784D-4B1A-919C-F00A8EBAC519As we get closer to Christmas, it seems the stress of the season starts to manifest itself. Remain focused, my Friend.

“Ground yourself in the real meaning of the season and let this focus bring calm and purpose to all the Christmas preparations surrounding you.” Kathryn Shirey

Stay focused on the desire of your heart. The desire to remain calm and steadfast while enjoying the Spirit of the Season.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas From My Heart To Yours

Christmas Encouragement

November 24, 2017

With Thanksgiving over and a refrigerator full of left overs the Christmas Season is in full swing. The hustle and bustle of Black Friday shoppers are out and about in the malls and stores that are fully decorated with their Christmas trees, garland, and festive music.

Today, I will be sharing my first Christmas Note of Encouragement for this holiday season.

7A6D4813-7310-4D51-A52F-C447A72E134BIt is my hope and prayer this Christmas that we don’t forget the “Reason For The Season”.

Remember, if it wasn’t for the birth of Christ we wouldn’t have Christmas. By including “Him” in the busyness of the season, we will be blessed by the riches only He provides.

Do not be dismayed by the chaos of the season instead allow God to encourage you with a peace, a calming, and a comfort that only He can provide you during this busy time.

Lastly, remember these simple words which are encouraging as we go into the busyness of the Christmas rush.

“What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace.” ~Agnes M. Pahro

May your holiday season be blessed with a peace which only comes from God and a heavenly enjoyment for everything that comes from this season of celebration.

Merry Christmas! 🎄

Opening Our Hearts To Others

Christmas Encouragement

November 25, 2017

4D5963C5-7EAE-4998-978B-64249BFCF97EDuring this busy season do not forget to take the time to be a friend to those you love or show a simple act of kindness to the stranger on the street.

The simple random act of kindness can leave the biggest impact on the person who is in need of it. Consider opening your heart and be that person this year.

“The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others’ burdens, easing other’s loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas. “ ~W.C. Jones

Showing your love and kindness doesn’t come with a price tag, but is the greatest gift you can give someone this holiday season.

Spreading Love and Kindness All Around

Christmas Encouragement

Love and Kindness

November 26, 2017

7CF72D65-7411-409C-8D5E-386D182698EAThese are such simple acts that everyone from the smallest child to the oldest person alive can do.

Let’s practice them in the week to come. It will be a great way to begin the holiday season.

Ask God to open your eyes for opportunities to show these to others. Then do not question how awkward or weird it may seem, Just do it.

The personal reward through satisfaction will be much greater then any good deed done.

Be a blessing and give this gift of love and kindness to others all around while being the beacon of light to a dark world this holiday season.

Christmas is About Sharing The Gift of Love

Christmas Encouragement

November 27, 2017

22CC441C-338A-49D5-AC97-46B38C98605EChristmas is about sharing the gift of our love with each other.

When God sent his Son it was symbolic of the love He has for us. He loved us so much He sent His Son to save the world from its wretched ways.

Is this not the ultimate gift of love?

My Friend, share it with others freely knowing it is a gift that will touch the hearts of others and will keep on giving.

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:21-23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Merry Christmas Friends. It is my prayer you felt the love I have for you as I wrote this note of encouragement.

Treasure Your Memories More Then The Gifts

Christmas Encouragement

December 1, 2017

8A574F80-66C9-48EB-AC41-26750E6CD059Most memories are triggered by something such as a Christmas song that you hold in your heart or an activity such as ice skating or sledding down a hill back home.

Memories are usually triggered by a sensation such as a smell, a sight, or an activity of some sort and is rarely based on a gift.

This holiday season I’m going to challenge you to treasure your memories more then any gift you could receive.

Merry Christmas. 🎁

Let The Music Touch Your Heart

Hark The Herald Angel Sing

Christmas Encouragement

December 5, 2017

809A0A9F-A9CD-4438-BF72-B5E579ED47FAHave you ever sat down and just listened to the words to this song?

Have you ever just let it penetrate your soul?

Take the time today if you are in need of peace to let this song touch your heart.

Take a minute today to close your eyes and just listen to this song allowing God to wipe away your concerns of the day.

There is hope and comfort for a brighter tomorrow.

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing – Pentatonix

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:8-14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Receive The Gift of Peace

Christmas Encouragement

December 7, 2017

52AA515C-7D81-48F1-8E32-8D03AEAD9D2ELife  doesn’t stop just because it is Christmas time and trials of life do not just disappear for this season, Your struggles do not know a time of day or a season of the year.

So how do you still cope with the trials of daily life while trying to enjoy the Spirit of Christmas?

Give your trials and concerns over to God allowing Him to give you the gift of “peace” for Christmas.

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”
‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This sounds so simple but often times, if we are honest with ourselves, forget to do it. Allow yourself a break during this season to put your trials and hardships of life on the back burner and enjoy the “Spirit of Christmas” to permeate your soul.

Tell Even The Grouchiest People Merry Christmas

Encouraging Others As Christ Does For Us

December 8, 2017

F446E170-4B4A-40BE-B078-E9BC13BEBA49 am not sure if it is me or if others are feeling the same way, but the closer we get to Christmas it is becoming more challenging to keep the Holiday Spirit alive and blossoming in my heart.

As I drive down the roads or through the store parking lots the patience of the drivers is nerve racking at best. I just want to say, “Come on people, it is Christmas time. Where is your patience and kindness?”

I think this season as I have made a valiant effort to remain cheerful in a society that appears to be less then joyful, I am feeling challenged to keep my Christmas Spirit alive and well.

I found this bible verse encouraging on a day I was struggling. It is my genuine hope and pray you find it equally encouraging, especially if you are in the same place I am.

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.” Romans 15:5 NIV

No matter who is mean, no matter who is rude, God gave us a job to do and a very important one this time of the year. Let us give back the same encouragement He gives us.

Besides, if we look deep in our own hearts, don’t we act the same way towards Him? He continues to encourage us to not loose hope and gives us the endurance we need to keep going no matter how rude and grouchy we can be.

I am going to challenge you today, no matter who is rude and nasty to you, kindly smile and say Merry Christmas and let God do the rest, just as He does for us.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!!!!!

It is my prayer today that you have a truly blessed day!

Take Time To Rest Your Mind and Body

Christmas Encouragement

December 23, 2017

Dear Tired Mom,

Do you feel like you are running around in a circle with no end in sight?

Do you still have presents to buy or presents to wrap?

Are your kids going to the kitchen looking for a snack and you cringe at the question that is coming next. “Mom, where are the Christmas cookies?” Then your response is, “I haven’t made them yet.”

My sweet tired mom, at this point it is ok to readjust your list and start removing things from it. It is okay to not get everything done.

If you were to ask your family they would rather have you engaged with them in an activity together then have you running around with your head cut off.

It is also okay to sit back and relax with a good book, blanket, cocoa, and popcorn. It is okay to turn on a movie and sit back and relax or take a nap.

The key is to make the time to breathe, my friend. If you do, God will bless you with the time to get everything done.

You can only push your body so far before it shuts down.  I promise this happens because it happens to me all the time. I am not good at taking my own advice.

God wants you to take care of yourself as much as you to want be there for your family. He created you and He knows what you can handle. He also knows there is strength in rest. This is why He commands us to do it.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28‬ ‭NIV
‬‬

My friend, truly examine what you have left to be ready for Christmas and allow yourself the ability to enjoy the next three days. It will go by quickly. Then before you know it, December 26th will be here and it will be over. Breathe, my friend, breathe and make the time to rest today.

Coping With Hardships During The Holidays

Christmas Encouragement

December 22, 2017

EDF049C0-2213-4834-8A02-CAB9AA293395

Not everyone experiences the joy of the season. There are many who are just wishing this time away. I know many who are just saying, “Let me go to sleep and wake up December 26 or better yet, January 2, 2018”.

Do you know anyone who is experiencing any of the symptoms below?

There are many reasons which cause hardships during this time of the year which contribute to this discouragement and depression. Some of these reasons consist of:

  • Loneliness, whether you are single or a widow.
  • Grieving the loss of a loved one or close friend.
  • Financial hardships, when you battle a lack of funds all year long, this time of the year causes even more discouragement and stress because you can not share gifts with your loved ones like everyone else.
  • Relationship hardships, is your relationship strained between your spouse or parents or additional family members? This strain can become intense due to the stress and strain of the holiday season.
  • Health issues can be extremely hard whether by you or a loved one. If there are health issues in a family, this can add strain to those who love this person. I know so many families who have been touched by the ugly word, cancer. There are many who are experiencing this great difficulty but struggle even more so this time of the year when the joy of the season are expectations whether financially, emotionally, or socially that a sick person dealing with health issues are not able to perform. This can cause great discouragement and stress which makes life even harder then what it already is.

As I have observed some of these difficulties above I have also learned of the following coping strategies to survive these next few days. Consider doing some of these if you are struggling with depression this time of the year.

  • Be mindful of your personal struggles and accept them. Do not ignore them because of societal standards.
  • Be sure to get your sleep. Sleep deprivation is extremely hard on your emotions and can cause them to run out of control.
  • Maintain your daily routine. Routine is important to keep you mentally stable and physically grounded to what is “normal” to you.
  • Eat healthy and stay hydrated. A change in your diet or dehydration can cause changes in your body causing these emotions to be more enhanced.
  • Maintain your exercise routine if you have one or consider walking to produce your endorphins which will help battle against the discouragement and depression.
  • Do not consume excessive alcohol or drugs in order to cover up the pain of the Season. This will only cause bigger issues that will make everything worse then what they already are.
  • Find a friend who understands where you are or what you are feeling. There is comfort in finding others who understand your pain.

There are many more strategies to cope with this difficult time of the year and I hope you have something that works to make the next week a little more bearable.

If you know of anyone who is struggling this time of the year, reach out and share some extra love, compassion, and understanding with them. They need it.

Hugs to each and everyone of you who are struggling to get through this season. You are not alone, there are many who find themselves sharing the same emotions.

Life See’s The Beauty Through The Heart

Christmas Encouragement

December 21, 2017

08BDB5FB-5233-48A8-92A0-75E0F73B9038Are you having a tough start to your day?

Are you waking up to the anxiety of a never-ending to do list?

Are you feeling anxious as you look at the calendar and know the clock is quickly ticking away at getting everything finished in time for Christmas?

As for me, I started mine out a bit rough. My body woke up to an early alarm to give my Kiddo her pain medicine,  but as for my brain, stayed in bed.

As I went about the house trying to get my day started, I kept forgetting what I was doing.

While in that mindset, I went to the living room, for who knows what reason, to find this sweet little boy sitting here perfectly poised as a Christmas present under the tree.

I couldn’t resist getting this picture and as I posted it to Instagram God gave me these encouraging words which I want to share with you as well.

God allows us to see the beauty amongst our mess when we take the time to open our hearts to see it.

My Friend, your life might be a little bit chaotic at the moment, but as the days wind down and Christmas Day approaches, don’t forget to take the time to look at those around you and see the beauty in the moments you could have missed had you forgotten to look at the beauty of life through your heart.

Another day down, another day closer to the Merriest Day of all, Christmas 🎄.

Don’t forget to look for something beautiful today and make it a memory that will spread joy to your heart.

Merry Christmas!

Honoring Christmas All Through The Year

Christmas Encouragement

December 19, 2017

E781BEC7-7847-4BBF-B286-455FB20F6354Your encouragement this season is to remember the Spirit of the Christmas  and make every attempt to carry the magic of the Season with you all year long.

There is something unique about this time of the year. There seems to be an over all sense of everyone having extra love, joy, and helpfulness towards others to go around.

How much sweeter could society be if everyone carried a sense of Christmas in their hearts all through the year.

“I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” – Charles Dickens

Your challenge in the year to come is to not pack up all your spirit as you put your decorations away for another year, but to challenge yourself to carry some of your holiday spirit into the New Year..

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all of you.

Merry Christmas

Christmas Encouragement

December 24, 2017

EC30F52B-169A-411F-B67A-52049CDF0853

Merry Christmas 🎄

To my faithful followers, I want you to know how much I appreciate each one you this year.

I hope my Christmas Encouragement provided you some strength, hope, comfort, and encouragement through out this busy Holiday Season.

Now as we close in on Christmas Day tomorrow my Christmas Encouragement Today is going to be simple.

Remember, Jesus is The Reason For The Season.

Without His birth some two thousand years ago we wouldn’t have this day. I know society has everything focusing on all the presents everyone has gone crazy buying and going in debit over, but this isn’t the real reason for the Season.

Christ is! He came to this Earth to give us the greatest gift we could ever ask for or hope for, “Salvation”.

So as everyone pulls those bags out of their closets or secret hiding places then grabs the necessary wrapping supplies, take the time to focus on why we are celebrating this Holiday tomorrow.

“When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭2:10-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Ask God to bless you with a Spirit of peace and comfort or whatever need you may have. He promises to keep us going and to meet our every need. All He requests is that we ask and believe and have unconditional love and  faith in Him.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Reflections

Christmas Encouragement

December 26, 2017

Now Christmas is behind us, the crumbs of the Christmas cookies line the cookie trays and the smell of pine that lingered in the air is being replaced by pine needles laying on the floor. The Season is coming to an end for another year.

F6CCBBA1-ED8F-43C6-A891-18264194D194“Living in a way that reflects one’s values is not just about what you do, it is also about how you do things.” – Deborah Day

With every ending the time to reflect back on the year is upon us. Now is the time to truly and honestly open our hearts to view every aspect of the year past; the good, the bad, and even the ugly.

Did you experience life altering events? Did you buy a home, have a baby, experience a deployment, loose a job or do a career change? Did you experience the loss of a loved one or experience the trauma of health issues within your family? All of these and many more can be either joyous or life changing events within your life.

How did you handle them? Were your emotions all over the place because the event rocked your world in a negative way or were you stedfast and gracious about how you handled it? How have these events affected your heart? Did they make it cold and hard or did they cause you an abundance of joy and love.

No matter what the event was, now is the time to evaluate how it changed your life and affected your heart, both positively and negatively. Determine how you were affected so you can make the necessary changes to better improve your life in the year to come.

“As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The objective is to live and learn through all of our life events so we can be constantly changing to better ourselves both inside and out. We want our hearts to reflect our lives and for most of us this is a positive reflection.

Take the time this week to examine your life and your heart. Prayerfully ask God to guide you through this quest and ask Him to heal any brokenness that needs mending while allowing you to maintain all that went well.

Many hugs friend as you take the time to examine your life. It may not be easy, but in the end it will help you to heal anything that needs to be healed thus giving you a heart and life reflection you will be proud to call your own.

Rest and Breathe Today

Christmas Encouragement

December 27, 2017

278CDB7C-F13D-46BB-B2BD-023F7216F434Is today one of those days where it is taking you all day to get your simplest of daily tasks done?

You are not alone.

I am finding today one of those days where I do a task and then I need a break. I do another task and need another break.

Are you also having this kind of day? I suspect the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season has caught up to me leaving me feeling exhausted.

I am trying to not feel guilty for having a day where a soft warm blanket and a book or my iPad makes me happy.

I am certain many of us are finding ourselves in the same situation.

Although I am not good at taking my own advice, I would tell you to give in to your tired body and take the day to sit back and relax before the busyness of life sets back in.

Take today to just…. Breathe.

Your mind and body will thank you for it later.

Time of Renewal

Christmas Encouragement

December 28, 2017

FF12D39D-4D6B-45E2-80B8-13A755D04D47As the year comes to a close and you ponder the year to come consider what you want your life to look like in the future.

“The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.”

J. Pierpont Morgan

Does this mean spiritual renewal or development? Does it mean a career or job change? Whatever your choice is you need to know the journey may not be easy, but the reward of peace, tranquility, and happiness in the end will make the journey worth while.

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

With God’s guiding hand, you will succeed at your newest life journey. Seek Him for the path and direction He wants you to go. With God’s continuous guidance you will have a successful life journey at the end.

Remember a key element to this change… “The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.” —J. Pierpont Morgan

Trusting God Through The Storm

Christmas Encouragement

December 29, 2017

As I close out the day I am praying this will encourage someone else who may be struggling like us.

Tonight is the coldest nights of the season for where we live and our furnace broke. I tried calling the repair man but they are so busy, the soonest they can get us in is tomorrow late morning to afternoon. That seems so far away when I think of how cold our house will get. I am just praying our pipes don’t freeze because we don’t need plumbing problems too.

First thing in the morning I have an appointment to get my car inspected and I am praying and trusting God will protect us from any car repairs right now. We can’t have anything go wrong with that too. Then there is my husband’s truck who also needs an inspection and it won’t pass because he needs a couple of things done to it. We don’t have the money for all of this.

Where does all the money come from as we are looking at these big expenses? It is so scary, but yet it shouldn’t be. We are to have complete trust in God because He knows everything at all times. Nothing is a surprise to Him despite it being one to us. When I was at the hardware store tonight I just felt God telling me to be calm and trust Him. The hard part was I asked God to protect us for tomorrow’s vehicle inspection. I had no idea within a few hours that I would be adding my house to the concerned list for the night.

The emotional pain and pressure is great. Tonight my heart is so heavy. We can not catch a break from struggling. Today all I could think of was wanting to start a new life journey to form a better, more secure, and happier life, however I have learned from the past, often times life gets harder in the form of challenges to test our skills in how to handle adversity.

This is not what I want to happen because all I have lived since 2012 has been adversity. This is why I am exhausted, frustrated, and weary. I cringe at the prospect of any more hardships coming our way. Then there is this tonight.

Trusting God, trusting God, trusting God, He has a plan even though we do not.

I wish I had the words of encouragement to speak to those of you who are struggling with similar circumstances.

I’m at a loss to come up with the words when my heart is empty tonight. The only thing I know and believe works all the time is prayer. My prayer tonight is for us both and that God will meet all our needs. I know He will protect us both from the scariness of what lies ahead.

Hugs my fellow struggling friend! We will get through this trying time! Hang in there!

Refresh What You Are Thinking

Christmas Encouragement

December 30, 2017

Wow, the year is quickly coming to a close. There is only one more Christmas Encouragement before the Holidays are officially complete for another year.

Today has been difficult at best, but I am especially thankful for the two people who encouraged me to get through the day.

It is funny because it is so easy to focus only on the bad part of the day, but it takes effort after a day like today, to see the rainbow despite the storm.

“You can’t change who you are, but you can change what you have in your head; you can refresh what you’re thinking about, you can put some fresh air in your brain.” —Ernesto Bertarelli

I need to seriously “…put some fresh air into my brain.” It is time to refresh what I think and how I process it.

  • So let’s take today for example. As I started my day early my husband decided unexpectedly that I needed help with everything that was going to happen today. I need to be thankful and appreciative of this as it became a huge help.
  • The next one occurred while sitting at the dealership waiting on my car inspection. The mechanic supervisor informed me that I was having battery problems and needed a new one. I told him I was aware of this problem and we will be fixing it, but he wanted to put it in. I was polite but informed him I could not spend money I did not have. As he walked away this was when a Navy pilot who was also waiting with me gave me comforting words about how God is in control of everything and it will all work out. Yes, I recognized a God moment in this. I was sure to thank him as I left.
  • Then I got home to have my husband take care of my battery first thing. This he couldn’t have done had he been at work. Now my car is fixed and working amazingly well again. I have the assurance I won’t be stranded now with a dead battery and a child who can not walk if we needed to. I also have the anxiety of another yearly vehicle inspection and any expense it could incur behind me for another year. Thank God!!! He knows how much I hate inspections let alone in December.
  • While I was at home waiting on the furnace repair man I was comforted by an amazing person via my Blog and a local friend as well. They were both instrumental in giving me encouragement to get through this stressful and difficult day. They both touched my heart in a way only God could orchestrate. Thank you to you both if you are reading this posting.
  • Next the time had come for me to take Kiddo to another post-op doctor appointment, but no sign of a furnace repair man. Because my husband took the day off he was able to be home while I took Kiddo to her appointment alleviating me of the stress of not being home and this guy showing up. I was so thankful to have this burden lifted from me. As of another result, I was doubly blessed because I was also able after her doctor appointment to not go directly home and go to my inlaws house to get warm and let my husband deal with any and all the decisions needed in this situation. This was a huge blessing met. This was one that wouldn’t have happened had he not taken the day off from work.
  • When I finally got home for the day, I came home with a very heavy heart lifted and a peace of all the important decisions of the day made, but not all made by me.

As a result of listing everything that happened today I am able to see time after time where God intervened and held my hand every step of the way. If I wasn’t looking for the rainbow through the storm I could have easily fallen into the trap of only seeing how hard today was. Instead, as I try to refresh my mind, I am able to God in every step.

Hang tough my friend, if you are going to tackle this same journey along the side of me, I know God will be with us every step of the way, encouraging us to take the difficult unsteady steps while not letting us fall until we get to stable ground again.

He promises to, “Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts “Be strong, Do not fear; your God will come, He will come with a vengeance, with Devine retribution He will come to save you.”” Isaiah 35:3-4 NIV

Refresh your minds my friends, allow the clean clear thoughts to permeate your heads and sort through the old thoughts of the past way of thinking.

Take the time today to look through your hardship and see how God orchestrated your trial and made His good to shine through it.

Feel free to share your experience in the comments below so we can share in your blessing or encourage you through your hardship. I can tell you from personal experience, it is better to travel a huge difficulty with others then to do it alone. We can guide you to see your rainbow when you may only see the storm. We can hold the umbrella over your head when you find yourself to weak to carry it. We can hold your hand as you find your steps shaken due to the unstable ground. If God wanted us to be alone He would have never given Adam a mate in the very beginning. He intends for us to be there for each other and to encourage each other through the difficult times.

“The Lord God said, “It is not good for man to be alone, I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18 NIV

Hugs my friend! I’m not going to promise this new life challenge will be an easy one, but together I believe God will use each and everyone of us making us wiser and stronger together.

We can do this!

Encouraging Other’s This Christmas Season

Christmas Encouragement

December 20, 2017

There is nothing more comforting then to receive a note of encouragement when you least expected it.

How many times has your heart been heavy with the burdens of life and you just did not know what you were going to do until you either read or heard some words of encouragement which changed your perspective on your circumstances?

The power of encouraging words can truly be a gift at this time of the year. If you see someone who appears to be down, try giving them a warm smile and a simple word of encouragement which God will place on your heart at that moment.

Allow God to use you to touch the heart of someone today.

Let your words be as simple as a Merry Christmas to the unexpected person you are passing on the street or in the grocery store isle, who appears to be sad or lonely. You never know how much they will mean to this person.

If God allows, watch for an opportunity to go beyond a mere Merry Christmas greeting and use your words of encouragement to go beyond the simple foundation to meet at the core of someone’s spirit.

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.” Romans 15:5 NIV

Share with them a gift they could never buy.

Share with them a gift that will touch their life forever.

Faith and Believing Are God’s Greatest Gifts

Christmas Encouragement

December 18, 2017

Dear Friend, does this time of the year manifest even more hardships of you then what you experience all year long.

Does it produce a fear, darkness, and discouragement?

Does your life look like one obstacle after another and you just struggle to see a clear path out of your situation?

My friend, receive the gift God has for you today.

Trust in Him that He has an amazing plan for you. Trust and have the faith that He loves you and sees your everyday struggles and is preparing you through them for an amazing future ahead.

I know it may be hard to see, but if you receive His gift of faith it will give you the strength and courage to continue looking ahead and striving to get to the place God has planned out for you.

“His promises are true.” Joyce Meyers

I totally understand how difficult this can be, but it isn’t God who keeps you weighed down by the burdens of life.

My friend, it is you who needs to release those burdens and by releasing them to God, He can begin to reveal His amazing plan to you.

Unwrap His gift of faith He has for you today and receive it with a joy you have never felt in your heart.

Merry Christmas 🎄!

Life Sees The Beauty Through The Heart

Encouraging Others This Christmas Season

F2C4E976-A72D-4A3E-A5E7-45E41E5F0C08During this Christmas season do not allow the busy holiday season consume you to the point you forget to nurture your relationships and friendships.

It is easy to get so consumed by the shopping, party planning, Christmas school programs, dance recitals, office parties, and more, that we forget to take the time to remember those people who bring us joy and happiness all through the year, our relationships with family and friends.

If this reminder touches your heart today, consider this challenge, send off a random thinking of you text or make the time to call your loved one and tell them you love them and have been thinking of them.

This simple task produces a joy and happiness through the words and feelings of knowing you were thought of. Share that joy and happiness today with your special people in your life. By doing so, you will experience the same happiness in return.

Merry Christmas🎄!

Slow Down and Enjoy The Holiday Season

There is something simplistic about Christmas time if you take the time to enjoy it.

My friend, do not forget to slow down and breathe while enjoying your favorite parts of this season. If that looks like sitting down in front of the Christmas tree with a hot cup of cocoa and Christmas music playing in the background or if it shopping for Christmas presents while taking the time to get a cup of coffee and sitting down in a cafe to enjoy it, the key is to allow yourself to soak up the parts of the holiday season that bring you joy to your life.

Do not get so busy that these simple pleasures in life slip you by.

Merry Christmas

Trusting God Through The Storm

Christmas Encouragement

design-27As I close out the day I am praying this will encourage someone else who may be struggling like us.

Rest and Rejuvenate

Christmas Encouragement

December 15

design-17

Is the weight of the season weighing heavy on your heart?

Do you still have to…

  • Buy your Christmas tree and decorate it?
  • Are you still in need of buying an outfit for your office Christmas party or your child’s Christmas recital?
  • Do you still need to bake some cookies for your Christmas cookie exchange?
  • Do you still need to find the time to make those homemade Christmas ornaments or gifts with your kids.
  • Do you still want to make that yearly gingerbread house?
  • Do you still need to mail off your presents at the Post Office?
  • Is all of this catching up to you mentally and emotionally?

My friend, you are not alone. I’m there with you. My list looks similar to this to include my daughter’s foot surgery this coming Monday morning, but I’m here to remind you what God put on my heart for us to hear.

He is reminding us to rest and take the time to breathe.

“And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”” Exodus 33:14 NKJV

I know this advice seems odd when the quantity of time is not plentiful, but God’s promise is never returned void. When He makes a promise He stands by His Word.

My friend, take the time to…

  • Sit down in a place where you find peace and relaxation.
  • Open His Word with your favorite drink, coffee, cocoa, or egg nog.
  • Let God refresh you mentally and emotionally.
  • Ask Him for guidance in re-evaluating your check list to be sure it is realistic and make the necessary adjustments according to how God is guiding you.

If you take the time to breathe and refresh your mind, body and soul, God will rejuvenate you and will bless you with the time and ability to get everything done, but not just done, but done with the joy and the spirit of the Holiday Season.

My Friend, take this time to rest from your weariness and allow God to ease you from the weight of the Holiday Season.

You’ve Got This! Take the time today to rest and rejuvenate.

Arlington Cemetary at Christmas

With all the joy and cheer around this time of the year, we often forget about those whose pain never goes away.

These are the people who have experienced the loss of a loved one. No matter how much they want to move on, their heart always aches for the person whom they have loved and lost.

I have chosen to honor a special group of people today, this being our Military Hero’s who have sacrificed their own lives defending our Nation.

Today a group of volunteers are gathering to place a Christmas wreath on each Service Members grave as a symbol of respect and remembrance during this Christmas Holiday Season.

This is a beautiful token of Christmas spirit. One which we could all learn from. If you are able to Volunteer with such an activity, consider doing so. I believe in my heart it will forever touch your heart.

Grounding Yourself In The Meaning of Christmas

Christmas Encouragement

December 17, 2017

As Christmas Day quickly approaches receive the gift that is precious and free, the gift of peace and calm to your busy and stress.

Take some time today to hear the bells of the Season and see the lights that produce the joy of the Holiday.

Don’t allow the busyness of the week to rob you of the peace God can give you this week.

“Ground yourself in the real meaning of the season and let this focus bring calm and purpose to all the Christmas preparations surrounding you.” Kathryn Shirey,

Leave A Trail of Your Journey

Christmas Encouragement

December 31, 2017

As I write my last Christmas Encouragement for 2017, I am closing out the year with a heavy heart.

My heart is heavy because I see heartache all around. I see it in so many people I know and don’t know.

I see…

  • Marriages that are struggling for many reasons such as financially, medically, multiple deployments for Military families, separations due to travel, and the mounting list is just endless. Marriages are becoming disconnected with no way of knowing how to reconnect. Once the pain and distance takes root it is hard to rejoin without a lot of work that many couples are just to tired and weary to give.
  • Families are struggling while they watch their loved ones battle cancer and the strain it causes on their family. The weight of this is immeasurable. It affects every aspect of their lives. It affects the loved one and the patient as well as affecting the whole family. It wears everyone down physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. There is no aspect of a family’s life not touched by the effects cancer can have on it.
  • Families with babies are not able to wrap them up in their arms and hold them tightly when they wish due to health complications. The pain this creates is massive. You see it on the faces of the mommies and daddies as they leave the hospital empty handed yet but another day with no end in sight. They have no idea when their precious baby will be strong enough to go home and live with them. The only hope they cling to is the hope the hospital staff will love their baby enough to give them the extra hugs and kisses they can’t give them at this moment in time. They find themselves praying all day long and into the darkness of the early morning hours. The tears are always in their eyes and in their hearts, for the pain they are experiencing is just unbearable.
  • Families are struggling financially whether due to a loss of a job or job that isn’t enough to pay the bills. Their circumstances make it hard to go get a better job or another job to make up the loss they are use to. Their bills keep mounting due to no fault of their own and the weight of it all becomes enormous.
  • Families are struggling to keep their homes from being foreclosed on because their income took a hit for one reason or another. Their is nothing more scary then thinking you are going to loose your home and everything with it and then become homeless, but for some, if not many, this is their reality. Their fear and pain is real.
  • I see single moms trying to provide for their children, not just monetarily but emotionally and spiritually as well. They do everything within their power to make them feel happy, safe and loved. I know this isn’t easy. It is a lot of weight they carry on their shoulders with no way of releasing that burden. They try to be strong, but some days the strength just seems like a dark hope. The tears just flow down their cheeks with no ability to turn them off. Many moms try to remain hopeful for their children while inside they battle with the ugly feeling of hopelessness. They don’t know what the future holds, they just try to live day by day and some days, moment by moment.
  • I see people on every street corner begging for food and money. There are so many that if you wanted to help them you couldn’t unless you were blessed to have a lot of money.

The pain is real and is felt by so many. Are you a reader today and you are experiencing one of these I have listed or is your pain one that I didn’t mention, but is real and ugly no matter how you look at it? Has your every fiber in your being been tested, strained, and torn apart? Are you feeling hopeless and lonely in this dark world you find yourself struggling in?

My friend, I have some hope to share with you. His name is Jesus Christ. He knows your every tear, he knows every ache your heart feels. He has not left you or forsaken you.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

Sweet friend, I know your life may be dark right now, but in Jeremiah we see God’s promise to give you a future and a hope. He is using this time of hardship to mold you and to refine you into what your future holds for you.

“For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined. You brought us into the net; You laid afflictions on our backs. You caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.” Psalms 66:10-12 NKJV

My friend, you are being refined during this difficult time. Here is the definition of refinement from the Webster Dictionary, “:… the act or process of removing unwanted substances from something: the act or process of making something pure.”

God knows your pain; He sees your pain; He is holding you up when you can’t hold yourself up any longer because He is refining you, to make you pure for His mighty plan He has for you.

Think about the lives and the people your story is either touching right now or those who will be touched when you share your testimony later. This hardship will not be null and void.

Hang tough, my friend. There is a hope for a brighter tomorrow. There is hope for happiness and laughter again. There is hope for no pain again. God will restore your life to one you could never imagine having. It is His promise, not mine.

Lastly, remember this last promise God has while you are struggling in your darkness.

“Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.” Psalms 139:12 NKJV

I know this is a hard time. but no matter how dark and hopeless your world may seem to right now, the above Psalmist stated God knows no darkness. He is not hiding from you, He is right there with you every evil, ugly, harsh step you are having to make. He is getting dirty and muddy along beside you. He has not forgotten or forsaken you. My friend, He is leading your way. He is allowing you to be refined through this hard time to grow you into the beautiful person He created you to be.

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul know very well.” Psalms 139:14 NKJV

Now, before I close I want to leave you with one final Christmas Encouragement wish for the New Year to come… Ralph Waldo Emerson couldn’t have said it any more clearer then God in His scriptures. Take this journey you are on, no matter how hard or ugly or difficult it is and turn it into something magnificent. “… Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” This trail will help to encourage others behind you of the journey you have been on. It will encourage them and give them hope of a new and brighter tomorrow.

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Tomorrow is not only the start of a new day, but it is the start of a new year. Leave the ugly behind, my Friend and try to look at your circumstances as a new and encouraging journey; one of hope for a brighter future to come.

You can do this, I know you can!

Happy New Year!
