Pictures Have To Stand Alone

Encouragement Today

B95A8528-455C-4B1A-89D0-5FF7769D5299

Today is an Encouragement that a pucture will have to speake a thousand words.

I had a late night yesterday and my ancient dog had me up several times.

My brain has not found it’s words and my eyes just want to go back to sleep, but that just isn’t going to happen. I have a busy day that is about to start once I get done here.

I hope everyone has a good day. Try to make it one of your best ones you haven’t had for a while.

Invest In Your Relationship

Encouragement Today

design-41Your Encouragement Today is a simple reminder that relationships are never guaranteed to remain healthy and secure if you are not willing to invest your love and time into them.

It is very dangerous when you begin to assume your loved one will always be there because you can never assume without love and work, that a relationship will remain secure and intact.

Everyone has seasons in their lives when life gets hard and difficult. If you are going through a time like this and you have pushed someone away but you have not made an attempt to reconnect, you need to know, you may be risking the possibility when you are ready to allow them back in your life, it may be too late. After you pushed your loved one away, you are not guaranteed they will continue to wait for you.

God designed us to build relationships based on love, communication, interaction, and connectivity. When you build a wall these relationships are no longer able to blossom and grow.

Think about a flower in the field. If it never received sun, water, and nutrients would it continue to grow? No, it would wither up and die.

My Friend, the same thing happens to our relationships. Without the proper investment of time, communication, and love, you can not assume you will have a relationship for a long term.

“You can not continue to make withdrawals from a love bank, without making deposits; for one day you will wake up realizing the account is closed due to bankruptcy.” – Unknown Author

My challenge for you today is this… if you are in a relationship that has been strained, consider doing something that will show your special person you still care, appreciate, and love them.

My friend, notice I did not say unconditional love? As much as we would like to believe our spouse or loved one loves us unconditionally, they do not always. They need to feel you still love them, appreciate them, and need them. If you do this for them then your love can remain unconditional, but if you do not, you can not assume this to be true. This is especially true if you have shut down and no longer provide these to your relationship.

Take some time today to invest in your “special person”. Show them you still love them. Make them feel that love they once had for you before you shut down or shut them out of your life.

It is my prayer it isn’t to late for you and your relationship if you are struggling today.

Do not wait! Do not assume they know you still love them! Show them!

Tomorrow is never guaranteed to us. Accidents happen and relationships die.

Do not let this happen to yours! Invest in yours today!

Your master plan is yet to be revealed.

“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly. “ Richard Bach

Just as the caterpillar thought his life was over, with some rest, his life became more beautiful then he could have ever imagined.

The weekend is almost here. If your week was a difficult one, stay focused, know your time of rest is right around the corner.

Trials Can Be Blessings

Encouragement Today

50BE45F9-12CC-413A-B513-441F59036468Today’s Encouragement is to remind you God uses our tough times to…

grow us
strengthen us
develop us
mature us
…. for what lies ahead of us.

It is often times hard to remember this when we are in the middle of a trial, but if you give it time, you will be able to see how the hardship grew you for something even bigger and better.

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:2-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Remember my friend, you’ve got this. No matter how tough the trial is, it won’t last forever.

It is molding you for a better tomorrow.

Do not take it for granted. You will regret it one day when they are no longer in your life.

Enjoy your friend today!

God Is Your Strength When You Are Weak

Encouragement Today

January 4, 2018

E7E2388D-8412-42F3-BD4C-03E0B8439740Are you struggling with something in life that has you feeling like you want to throw your hands in the air saying, “I want to quit?”

If only you could just walk away from your problem, but in life the reality of this just is not realistic.

My Friend, I am here to gently nudge you to not quit or give up.

God is your strength in your time of weakness.

He promises to reward you for your diligence.

“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭15:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Cling to this hope when you can not see any other way.

Lastly, remember this simple quote, “If God brought you to it, He will bring you through it.” Unknown Author

Strength Does Not Come From Negativity

Are you struggling with a tough decision?

design-34Does the weight of life have you beat down, worn out, and exhausted?

Are you facing some tough thoughts about life changes such as a deciding to walk away from your family, whether to change jobs, make a physical move or just how to survive where you are in your present circumstances because life just pushes you down at every turn?

My friend, you are stronger then you think you are. God has created in you a heart of strength and courage. You are not weak no matter how big or strong your circumstances are.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1-9 NKJV

The enemy wants you to believe you are weak and defeated so that you don’t fight back against your own thoughts. He wants you to live a fearful life because while you are feeling defeated he is able to run around causing chaos and havoc at every turn.

I have good news for you today. Your God is bigger then all of this.

He has commanded us to be strong and courageous and not fearful or defeated. All of these being the exact opposite of what the enemy wants us to believe. God promises to stay with us everywhere we go. When He is in our life, chaos is replaced by peace and defeat is replaced by courage.

My friend, you are not the power or strength of your negative thoughts. Do not allow them to take root in your life. Do not make life altering decisions based on them. Do not give value to them because they are not of God for He isn’t a God of fear or chaos or negativity, He is a God of love, strength, courage, and order.

Give all your fears, plans, concerns, and decisions to Him allowing Him to guide you in all the ways of His plans.

You will know when you have the answers because they will not come back leaving you feel fearful, defeated, or confused.

God will provide you with peace, comfort, courage and a direction that may not even make sense to you at the time, but no matter how obscure the decisions may be, they are and will always be from God. Follow the way of His direction in your difficult decisions and your life will be richly blessed.

If you were going to walk away from your family, but He wants you to stay, know with some work, He will restore your marriage and make it stronger and better then it ever was.

If you are looking to change jobs, God will open the right door where He will bless the needs you have whether that be financially, physically, or emotionally. You have to be open minded though because He may even have you to stay right where you are as well. Only does He know what the right decisions are.

No matter what you are facing, use this verse as a life guide for everything you are going through and every decision you have to make. God commands us to be strong and courageous not fearful or defeated. If you are facing fear, defeat, and confusion, this is not from Him.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1-9 NKJV

You have this my Friend!! Let God take control over your life in the year to come. Allow Him to guide you to a place of peace and comfort and let Him replace all your fears and anxiety with a calm and courage.

Lastly, remember God is always with you in every twist and turn in life. You will never be alone, no matter what your negative thoughts tell you.

Your Value Is Greater Then Your Success

Encouragement Today

177B92C2-0074-448E-B948-BF03187D5CBDToday’s Encouragement is another picture that will stand on it’s own.

I am very busy making some important and overdue changes in my life and in my home.

I am hoping to announce them once they get past this initial phase of creating.

As a result of what I am doing, I am extremely tired which is making finding my words more difficult.

I found this quote tonight and loved it.

Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value. – Albert Einstei

I want my value in life to be greater then my success. When you are gone, the people who loved you will remember you for how you touched others lives, not by how successful you were.

Consider this today. How will your life touch that of others?

Have a great day, Everyone!

Are You Sharing or Receiving Your Value

Encouragement Today

ADA08DC5-4CDD-4815-94BD-B90BC1DE9C07

Today’s Encouragement is coming again from the character trait of value through the power of humility.

I believe these work together in today’s reminder because many people fall in the trap of believing their value is reversed in this situation.

Many people determine their “value” based on what they receive and not what they give.

The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive. Albert Einstein

I think this seen in two common areas in life. We see it in those who lack self-worth and in the people who are in leadership positions.

I believe the people who lack self-worth fall into this trap because they do not see their own worth and value in what they give to others.

They do not see the value their life offers to others. As a result their life becomes about what they receive rather then what they give because they become so focused on what they are not receiving from others instead of what they do receive.

For these people, a cycle of negativity begins and they become pessimistic. When the cycle of pessimism continues, they see their worth only as valuable as what they receive and not what they share with others.

When this occurs, it becomes an emotionally dangerous cycle, but if this person could identify this is occurring, it could be changed and they could learn to live a much more gratifying life.

They would be able see and share their value with others again.

The second category I list are those who are in leadership positions. I believe this occurs because of a reversed logic.

This person becomes arrogant in believing they are so good in their job and in life that others are to share things such as respects and materialism with them. This allows them to believe their value is based on what others do for them and not what they share with others.

As a result, this person looses the value of what their life has to give for a completely different reason.

In this situation, humility would begin the healing process. Once they become more humble, they would be able to see their own “real” value and would learn that sharing it with others is a more fulfilling feeling then always receiving it from others.

There are many more situations where people loose their ability to see their value, but I felt God wanted me to focus on these two groups today.

I am not sure if this affects any of you today, but if it does, today’s challenge is to seek God and ask Him how you can reverse this role and experience the wonderful feeling of sharing your value then to receive it all the time.

Achievement Begins In Your Mind

Encouragement Today and Motivation Monday

86CAD410-FEBE-4D35-B973-303CFDA784FAMy friend, you’ve got this. I do not know what the journey is you are on, but I know that God is working out each and every detail for it.

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” – Napoleon Hill

Go for it, you can achieve anything you put your mind to.

Do not get discouraged for your God is with you and He is making a plan for you.

With God in front of you, you have nothing to fear.

Take a leap of faith and know you are never alone.

I hope you have a great week!

Eat Humble Pie

Encouragement Today

How many times do we take credit for what we build, what we create, or what we make?

  • Does this mean the career you are doing well in?
  • Does it mean the college class you are taking or the degree you are earning?
  • Have you signed a contract for an amazing job opportunity?

What does this look like in your personal life? What is going right that you have taken full credit for without giving it a thought that God actually blessed you with your accomplishment?

Now for a humble awaking.

We are not in control of anything that goes right or wrong in our life. God is in complete control of our circumstances.

He blesses us with what we have. He gives us the strength to get through the trying and difficult times. There is nothing in our lives that we have complete control over. Only God has this complete control over everything.

Only does He know what our future holds and how today molds us for our future.

“For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Our job is to not become prideful and begin thinking we are doing everything for ourselves. God wants us to give Him the credit and the glory for our accomplishments because without Him we would not be blessed.

Today’s challenge is to give Him the credit for all the great things in your life. Do not take credit for all that you have accomplished. Give God all the credit.

My friend, today be humble.

Quick Note of Encouragement

I am sending out a quick note to Encourage everyone to have an amazing day.

9C72F9F9-AD3D-47B1-BDED-3D8777B6F0C4

Keep your chin up if it is a hard day, God reminds us,

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭12:9-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If your day is going well,

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
‭‭I Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Have An Amazing Day, My Friend!

Turning Your Winter Into Spring

Encouragement Today

BF3FB7C3-6007-4B19-8517-328016A7EEF0Are you struggling with a pain that runs so deep in your soul that you have lost your passion in life?

Do you wonder how you would ever be happy again?

Do you wonder how you will ever heal from the pain that just makes your heart ache so badly that you just can’t break free from it?

Does the pain consume your every waking moment, so much so, you don’t even remember a day without it?

My friend, I am here to encourage you there will be a day without pain. There will be a day where it won’t consume you. There will be a day where you will have the strength to break free from it’s bondage and find your passion for life again.

The key to your recovery and healing will be to take that painful, yet precious first step to walk away from it.

Once you start taking those precious baby steps forward, you will begin to find your dreams and your passions in life again. You will begin to feel the warmth of a bright spring day sun on your face again. You will begin to see the bright and cheerful colors you see only in the spring after a long winter season.

When pain consumes our lives we find ourselves living in a state of winter, where we only know how cold life is and how painful it is when we only see through the lenses of black and white filters.

My friend, allow yourself to heal. Allow yourself to be free from this pain that has consumed you for all this time.

Take that precious step forward and find your dreams and passions in life again.

You are worth it!  You deserve it! You Are Enough!

Kindness

Encouragement Today and Motivation Monday

5F523F6F-8E03-4505-B039-5D9358A959BE

Today’s Encouragement theme is based on kindness.

Have you ever thought about the effect you have on others when you share a little kindness with them?

Rarely do you share a moment of kindness with someone and they return this gesture back with a moment of ugly or harsh behavior.

The normal response is that of showing kindness in return.

Today’s challenge is to look for an opportunity to share a random act of kindness with a person who doesn’t expect it. Then watch for how they respond back. It is my hope and prayer they will respond back with a bit of kindness in return.

It is my hope and desire this will be a pleasant experience for you and one that will start your week out on the right foot.

Happy Monday!

Loving Yourself Takes Courage

Encouragement Today

11C504C7-004F-4D37-BA7B-B55649037A64Today’s Encouragement is to inspire you to have the courage to love yourself enough to set up healthy boundaries.

Boundaries are not always negative conditions placed upon someone, but can be helpful and inspiring as well.

In order to maintain your strength and your mental stability, it is crucial you take some time to take care of yourself.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself to determine if you have the appropriate boundaries set in place.

  • Do you focus on others to the point you are too exhausted to do anything for yourself?
  • Do you want to exercise, but have occupied your time with others to the point there is no time in your day to do this for yourself?
  • Do you spend so much of your time accommodating the emotional needs of others, that you have learned to dismiss your own emotional needs?
  • Do you remember when the last time you watched “your” favorite tv show or read “your” favorite book? Mom’s, children’s books do not count (said with smiles).
  • Do you even have a favorite tv show a favorite author any more?
  • Do you have favorite music you like and if so, when was the last time you listened to it?

These are just a few questions to ask yourself. I am sure if you took the time to think about what you love and what you like, you would be surprised what you have learned to sacrifice for the sake of taking care of the other people in your life.

However, My Friend, it is crucial for you to think about, “Where do “you” fit into your day?”

Think about this for a minute, there is a reason why when you fly on an air plane and the flight attendant tells you to place your oxygen mask on before helping anyone else.

You can not properly take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself first.

Today’s challenge is to take the time at some point to make a conscious effort to do something you like without worry or concern someone will be upset with you.

Take the time to do something “you” enjoy.

When you do, I promise you will feel refreshed and rejuvenated to continue to do what you do for the other people in your life.

Everyone, including you, needs time to rest and regroup. It is time to learn how to set up those healthy boundaries allowing yourself the time to just rest and breathe again.

“Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others.” – Brene Brown

You Are A Ray of Sunshine

Encouragement Today

design-35

Today’s Encouragement is to send a ray of sunshine your way.

Life’s Reminders For You Today

When life gets busy and even a little crazy, you have the strength to get through the day.

“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” -Dale Carnegie

Life is busy and life is fragile, but don’t get so busy in the chaos that your forget where you are going. Stay focused on your goals and what you are trying to accomplish will come together.

“One of the most courageous things you can do is identify yourself, know who you are, what you believe in, and where you want to go.” – Sheila Murray Bethel

Sometimes when life gets a little crazy we just need a little reminder, “No matter how it looks, everything is going to be okay.”

“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I also want to gently remind you that, “You are the sunshine to someone’s rainy day.” Continue to look out for others with the compassion you hold in your heart and you will then see the strength your body holds.

“Build upon strengths, and weaknesses will gradually take care of themselves.” -Joyce C. Lock

So, no matter how tired you may be or how weak you may feel, to others they only see the strength of a warrior and the gentleness of a flower.

“Hard things are put in our way, not to stop us, but to call out our courage and strength.” – Author Unknown

My Friend, today is a gentle reminder that you are stronger then you think and no matter how tired and weary you feel from your battles in life, you will persevere and win this fight with grace, dignity, and honor.

“If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.” – Masaru Emoto

Keep the faith and know God is giving you the strength you need just as he has given these precious flowers their beauty.

“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – A.A. Milne

Healthy Steps Forward

Encouragement Today

January 3, 2018

Today was another step in the direction of change.

We pulled down the Christmas stuff and the house is back to being just plain and boring. However, it will be nice to get it clean again.

B546F0A4-0BEE-4B91-B517-DDDEAD713FCAThis is what our tree looks like now. This is twenty years of packaging tape. We always joke that our tree box is just tape holding cardboard together. Does anyone else’s box look like this too?

So, I am curious what your plans are for the year to come? I am not a resolution maker, but I am all about making goals this year.

We have lived on the edge for a long time and as a result we have fallen into survival mode. I do not want to live another year of what we have been living through.

This has to change. No other option is acceptable to me.

B2DEA674-C29C-429D-ABD3-CCB5AE907EA1I have lost myself over the past couple of years. So much so I don’t even know what I like anymore. I don’t have a favorite song or favorite radio station or tv show. I don’t have a favorite activity or anything any more.

My personal goal is to rediscover myself again. My quest isn’t to find my old self, but it is to find my new self. I want to find the one who has gained wisdom and experience from our years of hardships.
I am desperate to get my home and life organized again. I have learned when you are in survival mode, you loose track of a lot of responsibilities. This isn’t a good thing because now I am behind in everything in life. I am behind in filing paperwork, cleaning, and decorating. I will be extremely happy to see all of this come together again for the peace of mind I need again.
I want to start a small home business venture to make some money to help out financially so we can become financially stable again. I am still praying about the small business option though. If it truly becomes something I will be making an announcement here once God works out the details.
I need to learn how to become assertive so I can stand my ground with people who run over the top of me. I need to learn how to set up boundaries and stick by them.

““Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I am also desperately seeking how to do self care. This is extremely hard for me and because I don’t do it therefore I am crashing before my own eyes.
I need to work out the details now to put goals and deadlines to them so I stay focused on making these happen for me,
How about you? What do you want to do in the year to come? Leave your responses in the comments below.

Maybe this can be the blog pos that helps us to provide accountability and encouragement so we can successfully meet our goals.

Ok Friends, I have put some of my personal goals out there, now it is your turn.

Find Your Laughter

Encouragement Today

January 5, 2018

Today’s Encouragement is to motivate you to take some time truly seek your smile and do something that will make you laugh.

All to often life becomes difficult and serious when the weight of the world is on you, but by finding something  to laugh, a physical, out loud laugh, your journey to healing will begin.

When you engage in the physical act of laughing, it will amaze you how good it will feel and give you the desire to seek more opportunities to laugh more.

I discovered this yesterday when we got hit by the Blizzard of 18’. My dog loves the snow, but where we live it doesn’t snow often. It just lightened my heart to be outside in the cold air watching and physically laughing at him play in the snow.

I just really want to thank God for bringing this experience back to me. I love to laugh and have fun, but when life is so hard it is easy to loose.

Today’s Encouragement is to actively seek something that brings joy and laughter to your life. Feel free to share the experience  in the comments block below so we can share in your joy.

Enjoy your moment of happiness today.

Needing Strength Today?

Encouragement Today

January 6, 2018

05501C09-6FCD-45BF-ACAF-0DD42A316DF8.jpeg

Strength comes in many forms.

Most of which we have no control over.

The strength we need to survive life’s struggles comes from above. No matter how difficult life may become, trust in your God above to meet your every need and to provide you with His supernatural strength.

“It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18:32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Hang tight, My Friend, if you are feeling weak today. Seek God’s face and allow Him to renew your weakness with a new found strength to survive what you are battling.

Cultivate Relationships

Encouragement Today & Motivation Monday

2AC6723D-4080-4B1D-B5E3-C54F3DA0E309Do you have family and friends who mean everything to you?

Most people do, now think about what you do to keep them close? Do you invest your time, effort, imagination, and energy into them?

“Your family and your love must be cultivated like a garden. Time, effort, and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep any relationship flourishing and growing.” Jim Rohn
Do you shop for them? Text them? Call them? Show them how much you love and care for them?

Most people would say yes because that is how we maintain our relationships.

Ok, how about this twist, do you have a relationship that is struggling? Do you have a spouse, family member, or a close friend that is in your life and you are struggling to maintain a relationship with them?

I am going to present a challenge to you. Thoughtfully and prayerfully consider what they like and what they hold that is meaningful to them then consider doing an act of love for them today.

This act should not be done to receive any form of recognition back. It should be done to show them for no specific reason that you love them and still care about them.

Things to consider can be sending flowers. Write a note and deliver or mail it to just say, “I love you or I was thinking about you today.” Consider if you work with them or live with them of buying their favorite drink or snack and leave it on their desk or on the table with a simple note that says I care about you. Consider if you live with them to make their favorite food.

It can be simple, but it has to come from your heart.

It is amazing how fragile and damaged relationships stem a lot from the feeling of abandonment or damaged feelings. They don’t feel loved or cared about any more.

Now, I can hear many of you thinking, but I am the one who has been damaged and hurt. They ruined our relationship and I am hurt.

My friend, I am there with you. I know that hurt feeling and how deep it runs, but it doesn’t dismiss us from still doing what is right.

I am feeling in my heart this note of encouragement was designed for many of you who are hurt by someone. I feel God is wanting me to encourage all of you to do this random act of love because He is already working on their hearts. He is healing their hearts, but He needs your help by sharing just a simple moment of your time with a simple gesture of love to encourage the healing in their hearts.

Now, be mindful, this one random act of love by itself isn’t enough, however every act of healing has to begin with taking one step forward. I, by no means, am stating this will heal all relationships, but I am stating if you go out on this limb then God will guide you from there.

My challenge is designed to encourage you to take that first difficult step forward and I am trusting God will do the rest for you.

When I give you these challenges I take them seriously as well. While I was writing this I had two people come to mind that I will be doing my simple gestures for.

Now, My Friend, how about you? Will you consider doing this for someone God puts on your heart?

If you do, feel free to leave a simple comment below stating I will accept your challenge.

Appreciation

Encouragement Today

4049F45C-A7D1-489F-BB4D-90E982776A58

Today’s “Encouragement” is based on appreciation and was inspired by the unexpected caring and love my family has shown me the past two days.

What you don’t know is that I have written my last two blog posts in between the massive migraine pain of my own.

My heart aches for all that my sweet daughter endures on a regular basis, but I also have a new appreciation for all the pain she goes through.

I don’t know how she does this multiple times a week for multiple days, weeks and even a couple of times, for a month.

There is just no way I could endure this pain on a regular basis. She takes being a trooper to a whole new level. She is my “Rock Star”.

In my quest to improve my life, I found this quote to be not only profound but inspiring.

“As we develop a greater appreciation and affection for words that heal, bless and cheer, we will develop an even greater disdain for words that damage, disparage and disrupt.” Robert Burton

Have you fallen into a trap where you only see the negativity that lurks in the dark places all around you?

I know for me, it comes easily because nothing in our life comes easily.. I wish I had a dime for every time I have said, “Really, why does everything have to be so hard”. It doesn’t matter how easy or difficult the task, for me, it is “always” hard.

I say “always” in quotations because this is how hard life has become. I have learned to live and see the words that “… damage, disparage, and disrupt.”

I don’t want to continue live like this. I want to relearn and live the powerful meaning of the words that, “…heal, bless, and cheer.”

So in my quest to be observant when these positive words occur, I want to acknowledge the empathy and help my husband and daughter have given me these past two days during this ugly migraine.

I have been their caregiver and helper for so long that I had forgotten what it is like to have someone help me. I will even go so far as to admit I believed the lie I form in my head and heart that they didn’t care about me.

I am pleased to share my appreciation I have for them while they tried to help me through this ugly pain. Their actions of love broke the ice I had formed in my heart that they didn’t care about me any more.

How about you Sweet Friend? If you were to evaluate your own heart, what would you find? Is there ice freezing out some of your emotions? Do you need to relearn what it feels like to appreciate the people who are around you?

Consider this quote again,

“As we develop a greater appreciation and affection for words that heal, bless and cheer, we will develop an even greater disdain for words that damage, disparage and disrupt.” Robert Burton

My challenge today is to be observant and truly spend some time looking for the words and actions of those around you that will, “… heal, bless, and cheer your day”.

Feel free to leave a comment below and share your story of appreciation today so we can share and rejoice with you in your accomplishment.

As you accept this challenge, please know you are not alone in this quest. I am aware first hand at how difficult this can seem. However, when you open your eyes to watch for the opportunities to be appreciative you will experience the joy you once lost in your life again.

You’ve Got This Friend! I know you can do this.

Take the time to watch and listen for opportunities to be appreciative and know the more you do it, the easier it will become.

FA9DE117-CF10-4410-97FA-24F6559560B7Today was a big day for my Kiddo. After having been in her “Storm Trooper” boot since September and a surgery later, my Kiddo has her two feet back again.

I never dreamt I would be as excited to see her in two shoes, as she was. She has been through so much pain that to see her in two sneakers at the end of this very long and painful journey brings tears to this momma’s eyes.

These are the simple memorable moments in life that we share with our kids and I’m so thankful I can share them with her.

As mom’s and dad’s we worry over our kids. We spend sleepless nights praying over them, comforting them when they don’t feel good, set alarms to wake up and check on them and to give them medicine. We dry their tears when their pain is bad and no matter how old they are, we hold them in our arms just praying they will feel better again soon.

Today’s Encouragement is to not take for granted the everyday things in life. We use to take for granted Kiddo’s ability to walk easily and free of pain, but as she has realized over the past few months, every step she takes she does with calculated effort. No step is ever wasted on her.

I think this is the lesson God wants us to all learn. Every step He wants us to take should be equally calculated. Nothing in His world is ever done by accident because He has a purpose for us in everything we do.

I feel He wants us to see and do everything in our lives with a purpose that is just meaningful as Kiddo is with her steps. Just as she preplans her every step to be sure every one is taken with a purpose, God wants us to do the same in our lives.

If we loose our focus and take unnecessary steps we can feel the consequences of those actions similar to her when she experiences her pain. However, if we stay focused and calculate our steps as she does, we will reap God’s mighty reward in the end.

My Friend, Today’s Encouragement is to stay focused on your every step so you are moving forward in the direction God wants you to be taking in your life so you can reap your precious reward He has for you
